0wned in eight seconds, says the BBC

And can you imagine the poor souls who do set up Windows on new PCs? Patching the OS is not usually the first order of business for personal/home users when you are trying to recover from a disaster.

Hopefully everyone uses XP SP2 with firewall enable to at least give some protection. Otherwise we may see a spike in newly 0wned machines

I think dredging the bodies from floating in the water, pumping out the water, and razing what's left are probably higher on the priority list than someone reformatting and reinstalling their OS.

Does anyone read the links? There are people who are trying to set up computers in the shelters.People working very hard with no thought of reward to themselves.Using donated equipment and limited financial resources.Do you believe they should be required to waste those limited resources to buy Windows licenses? Other corporations are donating millions, children are emptying thier piggy banks, and MS is selling software.
