Road Warriors, Notebooks & Distance → NorthPoint Good ISP?

Hi all, I am getting ADSL from CenturyTel here Colorado. I am 8221 ft. from the CO and the ISP will be NorthPoint. I am getting 516k down with 256k up with a Cisco ADSL Router.
I was wondering if NorthPoint is a good ISP and if my distance will show some good speed. I like to play RogueSpear online when I get time, I get pings of 150ms and latency of 260ms on the 1-way cable I am on now. My PC is a PIII 550mhz, 256mb RAM, 32Mb ATI Rage Pro video card and so on... I just dont know what to expect from this setup and maybe someone has something close to give me a clue....

I'm in Dallas Texas, have SDS, and North Point sucks. Fortunately SWB just make residential DSL available, until April we lived .5 mile away and had rock solid service with them and August net.

We've been down for a week at a time this summer.

I to play rouge spear, really urban opps , and covert now ill be getting northpoint in 2 weeks or so ill let you know how they are, by the way at the zone i pinging people at 140 to 400 average with my 56k, i hope i will have better pings than that when i get dsl

NORTHPOINTE told me I would never get DSL I called COVAD and they came Out and Installed DSL with no problems

Northpoint is the subcontractor for my ISP... I'm very please with my service. I'm supposed to be getting ADSL but it is more like SDSL... so I cannot complain.
