Re: Anyone have SB4100 Throughput Issues? Why? It's still one of the best modems around. Personally I'd take a 4100 or 4200 over a Linksys or RCA modem any day of the week. |

I am in South NJ and I guess you could say I am having 4100 throughput issues... the modem does not connect to the network at all!
I had it working for at least a few months without a glitch and this saturday morning.. nothing... someone from Comcast is scheduled to come to my home Wednesday morning... arrghhhh... four days w/o internet at home!! It may be a run-of-the-mill problem though, Comcast claimed they don't have an outage, so it's just my location.
What's strange though is that my HD cable box is also fried, I had to go down and swap it out this morning... so, who knows... but it makes me wonder.
Anyways, I had been thinking about getting a newer modem anyway, would you recommend I stick with motorola? The options I see in the retail stores are the SB5120 and the SBG900, I already have a borrowed but older wireless AP so I wouldn't want to pay for the wireless CM unless it's really good.
I just came to the office this morning, so I haven't begun researching on the SB5100s, any input or info would be appreciated.

So what? I know a lot more people with the modem that have the 8Mbps speeds than the ones who posted in those threads. So again, what's your point? Linksys has never made a good modem, just wait and see what happens with this version, eventually the same crap will happen with them again. |
