AT&T Southeast → Returning my "reward"

I am supposed to get a camera or mp3 player for "choosing" Bellsouth DSL. However, I have decided to cancel my service.
I called and canceled, got an RMA number for the install kit.
But here's the question:
Do I have to return the reward when it arrives (I would assume so)
And Do I get an RMA for that as well?
What happens if the reward doesn't arrive? Will I get billed for it?

I don't think you have to return it.

When we offer a free gift to a customer (not bellsouth), they get to keep the free gift.

I would think that if you are cancelling your service so quickly after starting it, and you haven't even received the award yet, it is highly possible they have cancelled the shipment.

In the event they have already shipped the award, you may want to look at whatever paperwork you have from BS or wherever you selected what award you wanted as they generally list any requirements such as the how long you are required to keep the service in order to receive a signup award.

I remember many years ago when I signed up for internet service from Earthlink, and I received a free digital camera. I was required to keep the service for 3 months minimum to get the free camera and if I cancelled I would be billed for $75.00. The camera, by the way, was a cheap piece of trash that most likely didn't cost them more than $5.00. One month after receiving the cheap camera I got a box from them one day and they had sent me another cheap digital camera. Did I send it back? NO. Did I keep my service after the 3 month period? NO

If you get it, keep it. like above....you may have cancelled shipment....but we usually keep our free gifts as free gifts.

I'd read the terms and conditions from where you bought it. It tells all the details there. IT should have come with the reward and/or self install kit.

Your service should be active to get reward.
