SAME THING WITH 20/2. I will not be surprised at all if you pay for 20/2, are getting 6/1 and they tell you "no, it's acceptable".

We all know CV's history....will the caps stop? no. Will you get capped on 20/2? yes. Is there any difference from 10/1 to 20/2 BESIDES setting it burstable to 20/2? NO!

A node can only handle so much. It equates to about 3 users at 20/2 can saturate a whole node...and a node has anywhere from 300 - 600 users (about). And FYI, they are not, and will not upgrade the nodes (they didn't for the 20/2 testbeds, and i'm damn sure they wont).

LOL. We have several reports of calls to CV, a hundred more will not end the speculation.

Those who view the world as "half full" will believe 20/2 will roll out starting 11/1 at not additional cost. The "half empty" crowd will believe boost does not exist.

One thing is certain - the speculation will not end. Even should people start reporting speeds greater than 10/1, the speculation (and doubt) would continue.

Why? Unless someone is considering switching to FiOS for faster speeds, whether or not OOL will change the limits to 20/2 makes no difference. Why not just wait and see?

My guess is they are planning on upping the speeds, and they are not supposed to be telling customers yet. Sort of hard to keep a lid on it though.

I was on OOL for over 4 years, when FIOS became available I grabbed it and I'm very happy with it. The speeds are amazingly consistent and just what they say it is, no outages, no mail issues and no spam yet at all running 4 of the 9 e-mail accounts allowed

Fiber optic isn't always better. In Douglas Co. in Washington state Douglas county pud put fiber in many years ago. We are a dust bowl. 95% of the community is immigrants who work the orchards. We have no postal delivery so they give you a free po box. The FIOS service say 100mb connection but truly it has never been any where close. A lot of the people I have gotten to get the service only get one cat 5 cable running off the telephone poles. Perhaps because the skweaky wheel gets the grease I have an entire box installed on the back of my house, giving me 6 possible connections.

It was »www.vib.tv but about a year ago it was taken over by »www.homenetnorthwest.com/ which really screwed things up more.

What you have has nothing to do with Fios in any way what so ever, so the comparison is worthless.

Fiber optic isn't always better. In Douglas Co. in Washington state Douglas county pud put fiber in many years ago. We are a dust bowl. 95% of the community is immigrants who work the orchards. We have no postal delivery so they give you a free po box. The FIOS service say 100mb connection but truly it has never been any where close. A lot of the people I have gotten to get the service only get one cat 5 cable running off the telephone poles. Perhaps because the skweaky wheel gets the grease I have an entire box installed on the back of my house, giving me 6 possible connections.

I too left OOL last month but had it for 5 years but I am always looking for the best deal for my money etc.

FiOS is coming here in August so I got DSL as a stop-gap and I'm happy.

Anyway, thanks for responding and I'm envious that you have FiOS. Is it as good as they say?

Well if labsrus would send us the headers in the e-mail like I asked twice before, we could see if it was a joke or not possibly by seeing if it came from a bogus source.:huh:

One says everyone gets 20/2 for current price starting 11/1.

Another says NFW 20/2 on 11/1, and when it is available it will be at a higher price.

Personally, I like the first phone call better.

I've scheduled a reboot of my modem for 12:01am and speed test for 12:02am every day. I'll let you know if I see anything over 10/1.
