[News Groups] 400 Too Many Connections [Charter allows 2 per hI am trying to get Charter news servers to work, in lieu of the fact that I have lost my Earthlink services today, and cannot post any messages at all. I only have one copy of Outlook Express open, so there is no way I have more than two connections. This error seems bogus to me:
Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject 'Re: BIG!! - Lawyers in Canada press criminal charges against Bush over torture', Account: 'news.charter.net', Server: 'news.charter.net', Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '400 Too Many Connections [Charter allows 2 per host/0 per feed (0 == nolimit)] (Tornado v1.0.6.380)', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 400, Error Number: 0x800CCCA0
I had this same problem the last time I tried to use a Charter news server. |

Re: [News Groups] 400 Too Many Connections [Charter allows 2 peThough it may have changed recently and they've just neglected to inform me, I've always thought that the Charter news server was nntp.charter.net... Give that a shot and let me know what that does for you? |

I don't use Outlook Express any longer. I use NewsRover. It has a setting that where you set how many simultanious connects you allow. The service I use allows 8, which speeds up the downloads. Charter has a 2 connection limit. Check and see if Outlook Express has something like this.
Look at newsrover though, it is much better than OE. |
