when will the area along saturn road begin to see fios?

I know it has probably been mentioned before but I would like to know from TheFiberBoss, when does Verizon expect to finish Garland?

Thats a touchy situation. I will only say that it was a 3-4 year old project. But, however, it seems Verizon wants to now finish the entire project by end of 2006.

Wow, fasttracking it...I wonder how much of Garland will remain unlit by the time of project completion.

Anyone know if Garland Rd & Campbell neighborhoods are getting Fios right now? I see some flags and street markings in my neighborhood so I'm curious what to look for if VZ is going to be working in my 'hood.

Okay, I answered my own question today.
Going on NOW!!!Verizon Fiber to the Premise project in the Hills of Firewheel neighborhood. This is my 'hood!
Streets are Sagebrush,Alderwood, Green Apple, Yaupon. Not sure of any others in the 'hood yet. Major cross streets are N.Garland & Campbell. We are North and directly across from Firewheel golf course, main entrance.

Just a heads up, my neighborhood is in the NE quadrant of the Yellow area of the drawing posted by Fiberboss before. The work being done in my neighborhood is MasTec contractors. Either way Garland is getting hooked (fibered) up!

I'm caught between a rock and a hard place - I am on the south side of I-30- so I've always had SBC or AT&T where all the rest of Garland had GTE (now Verizon)

I can't get DSL from SBC and I can't get it from Verizon.

Anyone hear of FIOS going in on that side of I-30 in Garland?

I spoke with a guy in the FIOS department at Verizon. I live near Rowlett Rd. and Country Club just north of I-30. FIOS won't be available in my area until 2008. SOB!
