Re: [Info] A3AB.SYS Crashing

Yes, if you use something else than dynamic turbo the driver won't crash your system.. I know, stupid bug...

Go to this website »www.netgate.com/support/ ··· os/5002/

download the 10.9mb file.

Uninstall your d-link drivers, reboot the system... windows will say that it found new hardware.... chose place where windows gets the driver from.. (folder of the driver you just downloaded) and select the correct folder (ok will light up) continue... will ask for confirmation continue..

After all this you have successfully installed your atheros card (d-link) and you can use the windowows config utility to configure your wireless access... (client utility that came with this driver isn't recommend)

Greetings, any questions mail or post.

Hope this helps

woohoo!

wow that worked like a charm!! I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but not only does my system seem more stable (24 hrs and no crash!) I no longer have to run those annoying ANIO programs, whatever the hell they were!! Stupid dlink... man this rocks I was just about to break down and buy a new network!

will the same driver also work for the notebook pcmcia dwl-g650? I'd like to switch that one out too!

THANKS AGAIN!!

Happy it worked for you.

Yup the dwl-g650 (108mpbs) uses the same atheros chipset so is fully compatible

Enjoy

Jellen, I hope you can help me.

I have a G520 I am trying to get working with these drivers.

No matter what I do it doesn't work. The install appears to complete, and the card appears operational, but no wireless networks are found.

I have installed the software BEFORE inserting the card, and have also tried installing AFTER the card. Same result.

Fortunately I have a Ghost backup of the system with NO wifi drivers installed that I am restoring after each attempt, so I know the system is clean.

I also notice that while Windows is booting, I see a flashing green light on the adapter. Once XP loads, no lights are blinking at all. That can't be right.

Appreciate any help here...

another problem found!

okay ever since I installed these drivers in my laptop, I have only gotten the BSOD like once or twice...and that's good! but there is one HUGE annoyance resulting....

MY PC WON'T GO ON STANDBY ANYMORE!! if I take the wireless card out and leave it alone for 10 minutes, it will go on standby... if I plug it in and leave it alone for 10 hours my battery will run out before it ever even tries to go on standby!!

help!!
