Re: [Xtreme] Slow speeds! What can I do?

I monitored my speeds all weekend and although they arent as high as they were, they are over 2.5mb now and pretty consistant. I can live with that. I just have a problem when speeds drop down to the point where it feels like I am using my Direcway dish again.

I agree with you snid1702, it seems to be related to capacity and not hardware. I bet 6.0 is putting a strain on the network in some areas.

jps_... I don't think it is 6.0 related. Number one, there aren't that many of us as of yet. Number two, the extra speed hasn't really affected our surfing/download habits as of yet. I have to believe it has something to do with an increase in the number of guaranteed bandwith customers or even more likely backbone customers. The other possibility is some kind of partial technical failure in the system.

It may not be related to 6.0. All I know is that somthing is wrong and I believe its not related to my line or connection. My stats are fine and are the same if tested at the NID or at my jack. I have a cat5 homerun with a new splitter and have had zero disconnects and very few CRC errors. It really appears that there is a bottleneck somewhere upstream. I will call them tommorrow and see what they can do to help.
