Re: [OOL] Best Modem to Achieve new OOL speeds

Any modem you get from CV will now allow you to achieve the higher speeds. If you own your TJ, I'd just walk into a CV walk-in center and ask for a loaner modem.

A loaner, without having to pay a monthly fee? I will most likely do this on Monday. Any particular teaking I need to do besides this? I have run the DrTCP and adjusted my settings accordingly:

TCP Receive Window: 128480
Window Scaling: Yes
TTL: 128
MTU: 1500

The rest I left on their default settings.

Thanks so much.

Might want to bump up the RWIN to 256k.

On 15/2, I think that his RWIN is good at 128480. No?

Locally yes but I think with higher latency like to the west coast, a higher RWIN would help.

Folks who have the 15/2 with Cox on the Easy Coast don't have any issues going to the West Coast sites with that RWIN. I still think it is too high.
