Who wants to break me >

Hello!!
Heres my deal- I'm about to get back into my 'net life' been 2 months since i've been down. New pc should be up and runnin in 3 weeks or so (( gig AMD processor - 256mram- v5 5500 - oh yeah!!))
On my old pc i had cable. Now i've been thinking of taking up DSL ( ADSL or SDSL). I'm aiming for a gaming pc ((duh)) and basic net usage (( d/l, u/l ..etc)) I really don't wanna pay more than 40 bux- with that price i think i can only get a slower DSL connection or cable again- IF i wanted the speeds of cable what rate DSL would i want?! What would be a better buy ? DSL or Cable? I'm looking for stablity @ a affordable price. Thoughts and experiances would be appericated. Thx- oh i can spend more than 40 but i really don't want to.

p.s. If anyone wants to chime in on AMD processors- please do! thx

It depends.

You have the money for that system and only $40 bucks a month for an internet connection?

As for DSL or Cable, it depends on so many factors that the best way to decide is to ask other serious gamers in your area how they like their service. (My parents have @home and it is really good for pings and packet loss, but I know others who have @home in other areas that have terrible connections)

if you were happy with the cable service back when you had it then stick with that. I'd much rather go with something that is known to be good than risk another service that could be either way. There is bad DSL and good DSL - just like cable.
