What's poorly built? Definitely not the 4200, they are one of Motorolas best modems. Go look in other ISPs forums and see that they don't have any problem maintaining speeds as long as the network behind the modem is functioning properly. OOL users use this modem to hit 10 and 15Mbps without problems.

I will have to agree that they are not poorly built. When configured correctly, they perform as expected with any tier Comcast presently has. There are some that are stubborn and will not play well. Of course my opinion about replacing them is only based on when the SB4*** series modems do not improve after updates, etc. If leased, it is always easier for a customer to swap it than wait for the issue to be resolved. That is the customer's choice. But to recap: the SB4*** series routers are well built.
