aguiar0016 posted : Hi jeff

a tech visit is not required to upgrade your speed. They should be able to do it right over the phone. Ant the offer your talking about i think was only avail to "new" customers not exactly sure of that.
hope this helps

O1OOO1O posted : OK - so why dont you just call them and place the order over the phone? I'm sure they would know its just an upgrade order and there would be no need for a tech to come out.

Jeff posted : Hi,

I searched through the FAQ and did a search here and didn't really find my answer. That being said, I apologize if someone responds to my request with a link to a spot here where it was asked. :)

I'm on Long Island, and according to my Verizon online account I'm able to get the 30/5 package for $60/month. I want to do this, and as a user pointed out in "my review" of Fios, I can submit this speed request from my Verizon account (where I pay the bill.)

I just want to make sure that this won't disrupt my service at all. Making the selection and going through the steps to upgrade to 30/5 from 15/2 removes the 15/2 package from my account, and then adds the 30/5 package to my account. My Cart" then shows a net increase of $10/month in charges, which is correct.

The step before finalizing the confirmation told me that the upgrade would occur on 1/30 (today is 1/25) and the technician would be there between 8AM and 5PM. Obviously, I already have the 15/2 service and have had it since May of 2005, so a tech doesn't have to come out here, right? I'm just worried about any disruption in service because we have two Vonage lines here that the family uses heavily, and I don't want to have to struggle with annoyed females in my family. :)

TIA.
--
"When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your forsight becomes a nimble vagrant."

| Wikipedia | Blog |
