OptimumOnline → Slow speeds on toshibia laptops with new Optonline speeds?

I have two Toshiba laptops which I hooked up to my network at home. They only get speeds test of 4.5 to6.1 on the optonline speed test. I hooked them up wireless and also hard wire to the same connection as my desktop and get the same results. My desktop get between 12 an 14 on the same test and line. any Ideas on this one??

Run a tweak test from the toshiba. What processor and os does it have?

Both have Windows xp and one is a pentium2 and the other a Pentium 4 . will try tweak test from Toshiba. I did use Dr tcp and tried the same settings on all computers and that did not change the speed...

The P2 may be maxing out, but the P4 should be fast enough.

Did you try the OOL FTP speed test on this forum? See what you get on that.

That is consistent with 4.5mbps; if it is tweaked and that is the best you can get, and another computer gets better speeds on your network, I don't think there is much more you can do. You could look at your network drivers and their settings, but that is not likely to help.
