[TV] Upgrade FOOPA

On Monday I called to have the STB in my bedroom upgraded to an HD-DVR. Everything was set... They were going to be here Friday morning before noon. Or at least I thought... something told me to call and confirm today. No order was ever submitted. My bad for not getting an order number or the person's name who took the order. Needless to say the guy on the phone today... and the supervisor he added on to break the news... were great and very apologetic. I am now waiting for a phone call to see when they can get one out to me.

This is really amazing. Typical phone company BS... I can say that... I work for a phone company.

Cheers,
Ronnie

Just got off the phone with the supervisor... who promised to call back in 30 minutes. The best they can do now is next Tuesday... offered to give me a $25 credit for their screw up. Also admitted they found where an order had been started but not completed for my original tomorrow install.

I really wanted to rip someone a new one... but I could hear the frustration in her voice. So... I guess a $25 credit and a few more days won't hurt me.

Sorry for the vent folks... their FIOS ordering system is still experiencing some severe growing pains.

Cheers,
Ronnie

How much does the HD-DVR cost compared to the standard STB?
Thanks.

The net is about $9 more a month. Which, to me, is pretty much a bargain.

Thanks for the quick response. I have cable tv and looking to switch when it's available. Another thing I was wondering: does your program guide ever start shows at :59 or end them at :01 making it impossible/difficult to record successive shows? My cable pvr does that and it drives me nuts.

This is just flipping ridiculous!!! The last update I had was having Verizon coming out to my house this morning to upgrade my STB to DVR/HD. I called about 10:30 this morning... and once again... they don't show me on the schedule. It has now been escalated to a Manager. WOW... just to swap out a STB.
