Correct me if I am wrong but I don't remember hearing much, if anything at all, about RR imposing hidden caps...

Edit: RR does not impose hidden caps- link: »[TWC] Does RR cap heavy downloaders? Perhaps investigating would be a bit wiser then crying wolf.

I don't download a whole lot all the time but every once in a while I will push it on bandwidth. So far I've not found a cap or have had any notification from TWC in Cincinnati about any caps.

Cod is correct. There are no enforced caps with TWC.

Yeah, I have a friend that works at TWC here and he also just confirmed that they do not impose caps.

I had RR for approx 7 yrs. In that time I received several letters and phone calls regarding my bandwidth usage. I was told that if I exceeded 10GB/month upstream one more time, they would cancel my service. However, they did tell me I could get twice (20GB/month) upstream cap if I was willing to pay 2x the monthly cost, by switching over to business class. Even then, they hounded me and told me I could only use 666MB/per day (666MB x 30 = 20GB). So they DO enforce caps and for me it was a daily cap, and monthly cap.

I switched to DSL about 2 yrs ago and haven't looked back. I pay 1/2 the price and get almost twice the upstream and have never had anyone question my usage.

There was some capping back in 2003, but it was very market specific. They're a little disjointed on the managerial side. Markets that had them ultimately got rid of them as far as I know...
