Re: Adelphia High-Speed Internet Extreme service

Just feels wrong to pay the same amount of the extreme package, for the premier.

I have a feeling that since theyre rolling it out in FIOS areas, which isn't us, we won't see extreme package here for a long time.

i agree with you about it not being fair about only some areas getting extreme. i guess that is just life. I guess from a business perspective if their is not as much competition you just won't see the higher speed. I guess that's why i like satellite tv it has the same packages across the country. They don't pick and choose areas to offer certain packages that other areas can't get.

I guess just be lucky you don't live in my area. Premier isn't even offered here. It just isn't fair. Preferred tier here seems to max out at about 1.5mb. I think they just need to update the cable plant to increase the speeds. well good luck with getting extreme tier while i wait for premier.

Just bear with them. My cable company took almost two years to upgrade the local office. I feel your pain. I was stuck at 1.5MB also. Now I have Premiere and get almost 7MB. I hope you get the same. Good Luck.

It's the same reason why I pay anywhere from $150 to $300 for a single PRI depending on where I get it. It's all about competition.

SBC DSL is a pretty big competition right now out here in Cleveland. Most people I know go with them because it's only $25 a month. Hopefully that's incentive to either bring the price down on Premier package, and roll out Extreme in the area.

I'm guessing that's just standard DSL. Unless it's FIOS, right now it's more of a nuisance than a threat.

yeah for n00bies DSL its a steal but if u look in more depth isnt worth it ... at least in my opinion i will never go with DSL! dont like it at all!

And yes, I think Adelphia wont be offering Extreme service yet untill FIOS will be rolled out by other companies in this area... I hope I m wrong, but Time Warner its going to take over soon, anyone knows if their plans are better (faster speeds) ??? and if we gonna be upgraded???

Rochester NY subscribers just got a jump from 5Mbps to 7Mbps but no change on upload. I know there are a couple of service areas getting even better than that.

I'm in the cleveland area as well... I see at@t is placing there vrads in the rocky river area now, and maybe cleveland in the near future, which is there super high speed dsl, i think it's in the range of 25 mbps. Probably won't be up and running for 6 to 9 months, so adelphia has time to upgrade if they will at all since they are in bankruptcy and having problems with there share holders with the whole time warner thing.

But the thing of it is, with the AT&T stuff, they're only putting aside 6mbps/1mbps for the internet side and the rest goes for TV use. In the long run adelphia will probably win. I know i'm switching back after my new house is built.
