Re: Team Backgrounds!

I decided to render an image for use as wallpaper.

It's 1024x768 and in jpeg format. You can convert it to bmp and resize if needed.
It took 8 hours to render on my dual Cel@525! I guess I had the settings up a little too high

It's got a colored chrome dual helix with rainbow colored glass lettering. It says

Team Helix
Distributed Computing

You can download it here...375k

it's not a team background, but someone might be able to use it. it's a picture i took of a ferrodoxin protein molecule at the Natural History Museum in Washington DC. i have it in the full 1600x1200 size if anyone wants it

Let me check and see the space available int TH.net... If we do then the creators of the backgrounds need to keep an eye on the size of the GBs so that I don't run out of space on TH.net....

I can compress a 2.8MB bmp to less than 100k with no visible loss. Let me know if this would help.

Make that NO LOSS.
(Fractal compression)

I would say that if I have the space available then compression with be required on the images....

Thanks for thinking of that Jason...
