WE have lots of geese here - have not seen a dead are inthe grass they live in. Their poop is not worse than any other poop - lots of nasty stuff in about all poop. |

When I was about 15 or 16 I had this girlfriend who had a pet goose. Every time I tried to kiss her, the goose would attack me to protect her. Even she could not dissuade the goose from attacking. that's evolution, they probably have complaints about things you do, and they're only toxic to manufactured lawns. I've actually enjoyed hearing Geese of all varieties, I dislike alot of people that have more than 1 kid, drive a big truck or hummer that's not needed, and are just annoying to the natural order of things. |

Well, one could argue that hunting wild animals for food is unnecessary, and you could say senseless. Or eating animals at all. (although I think it is natural for us to eat meat,we've evolved that way after all.) |

I get a kick out of that because I am a hunter (bow only) but also you can't find those animals in your local grocery, and it gives us something to do to balance out our lives. But would you rather we treated the animal like we do cows then hack of its head and eat it ? I don't get the unnecessary part thats all. Not meant to upset you but I am just wondering. |

Man, this thread sure turned into Kumbaya Fest. Here is the deal (for both the OP and the tree hugger):
Geese serve a purpose, just because "science" hasn't found that purpose (or we are not aware they found it) doesn't mean they don't.
Kill all Geese and, somewhere, something will be worse off for it.
Now for the tree hugger. Would you feel better if that truck had a box of pre-packaged geese from the corner grocery store?
If you believe in the Bible, then you know that humans were put in this earth to to govern the beasts (before sin) and were given animals as food (after sin).
If you don't believe the Bible, then "evolution" put us in the position we are today. Either way, we end up with geese in the dinner plate whether you like it or not.
Should I say you should be the one harvested, skinned and cooked every time you eat corn or whatever the heck you eat? No. |
