anon posted : It may not change anything BUT it will set legal precident and that can be much more valueable to anyone MPAA attempts to sue in the future. One point to also consider that his computer may have gotten hacked and files put on there to be a distrobution site without his knowlage how can it be proven HE actaully put the files on his computer? Even if he was uploading the file is it his responsibility to ensure the person has a legit copy? if this is the case then the same can be said for walmart selling a knife to a person that goes out and kills with it.....that walmart is responsible because they sold it to the person knowing he was going to kill with it.

Doctor Four posted : Why would he even attempt to download a crappy copy of
a crappy movie over Bit Torrent when he already owns a
DVD of it? The MPAA's charge doesn't make much sense. And
if he were guilty of downloading (uploading) it, you would
think he would pay the $2500 extortion fee rather than
fight it in court.

Knowing the MPAA's lawyers, they will likely drop this
one and pay his legal fees when they realize that they
don't have a case. But I still think he should
countersue them for harassment.

He says he is doing this to get the MPAA to change
their practice of suing uploaders. I don't think
those sharks will change anything: as soon as this one
is forgotten about, they'll go back to preying on those
least capable of defending themselves again.
--
"Kayura or Badamon, whichever you are, you should know that I will never give up this battle.
