If you are using an Ethernet cable between your PC and the router, then double-check the cable and ports. For example, if the ports on the router are only operating at 10 Mbps instead of 100, then again, there is your bottleneck. My router dispalys the wan IP as 74.71.45.185

Testing this speed gives me around 5mb down and 1mb up

When I connect the modem directly to my computer the IP is

74.71.42.246

and my speeds are around 8mb down and 1mb up.

Of course we all know CNY is getting the 10/1 speeds to compete with FIOS, which is already available in some areas, and not to mention the measly 384kbit upload people have now is not fast enough for RR's digital phone if you are using the PC at the same time.

I don't care about the download rate to be honest, I already have 7mbit, it's just my upload limit is murder imho.

My download speed never breaks 4000 and my upload speed barely breaks 300. When I go to my girlfriends house later I'm going to check their speed and see what it is.
