Wouldn't doubt it. Clearly the attachment to digital devices is the clear way to breach security. People want to use laptops and things on airplanes, terrorists can therefore hide whatever they want inside an electronic device like the ipod or a laptop and blow up a plane.(or at least a small piece of it) If a bomb can be hidden in a shoe, it can easily be hidden in a laptop battery.

I believe you are still required to have your laptop go through the X-Ray scanner... or they at least make you turn it on first to prove that it works.

And just like the incredibly stupid liquids ban, based on peoples perceptions and not a realistic look at how hard it would be to create an explosive on a plane from liquids they could get thru security; we'll soon be facing electronics bans because people think they're an unmanageable threat.
