especially since FIOS can easily support multi hundred meg bps so I'm not sure why everyone decides that because a few users are trying a new service that FIOS is now old slow city.

FIOS still has sub 5ms latency to virtually all of Verizon's network etc etc etc....more bandwidth still for more HD programming and infinitely more options longterm than cable will ever have. Thats not to say that cable is dead or even dying. Its good to see competition for my money regardless of the delivery technology used.

Cable is still playing catch up and will for the foreseeable future. But any and all competition is usually good for the consumer.

Also I would want to see what the price would be for that 50/50 plan.....

Hate to break this to you, but my Comcast HE has redundant 10G(that means two) fiber connections to it!

Seeing as FiOS should have just did it right in the first place with 5/5 ~ 30/30... but didn't, means something is sketchy.

There is no jealousy on my part friend, I have certain values that will not allow me to ever get anything from Verizon! Period.
Not to mention, Verizon will never deploy to SBC/AT&T areas, so who cares what Verizon does anyways?

Me? I'm waiting for a Muni or some ISP to come here and hit my town with ??/??(symmetrical) fiber, but I'm not going to pee myself dreaming about it.
I try not to settle for anything because others are praising it.

I often use my full download bandwidth and to trade 20 down for another 5 up would not be a good trade for me. Or anyone I know. Or anyone that knows anyone that I know. Both Dadkins and Wile you two jokers need to calm down and realize that different people have different needs. Dadkins very few people do offsight backups and require more than 5 upload. With that notion very few people know about usenet and can max out a 50 megabit pipe. So both of you please get of it sure 20/20 is probably the sweet spot in terms of usability right now, but no one is going to offer it (no one well known and widespread smartass). 30/5 is pretty damn reasonable considering a) FIOS isn't symmetrical at the node and b) nobody really uses more than 5 up unless you are either running servers or doing backups.

The part that none of you are getting... *FOR ME* 20/20 is far better than 30/5.

I don't download every stinking file from Usenet, and few servers can hit you with 30mbps.
Uploading my backups to my server *IS* important - TO ME!

Ask anyone(here) what they would rather have - 5mbps upstream or 20mbps upstream.
