Re: Biggest Learning CurveJust 2 things, I've seen 1) All the Mac's that we've bought have a 1 button mouse. PC users [me included] always go to right-click, but there isn't a right mouse button. Sure I know you can option-click and that does the same thing, but if you're used to a 2 button mouse... I've seen people talk about right clicking on a Mac, but never have I seen a Mac with more than 1 button [except CAD users, where they have a Rat (mouse with many buttons)}
2) The Mac menu structure is different from the PC
And I'm really glad there is no X in the top right hand corner. As someone pointed out, clicking on the X doesn't close the program, it just closes the program's window. So if you click on the X, the program might seem to close, but in fact it may be running in the background - and then you have to go to the program manager to actually close the program. I have a canned lecture for PC users on this. |

Although it's not physically a two button mouse (meaning you can't really see it), there are touch sensors that can sense which side you are clicking down on. See this: » www.apple.com/mightymouse/ |

As far as quitting apps, that is probably the number one issue I see on a daily basis from those used to running Windows. Someone will complain that they "hate this Mac" because "it's so slow"...and a glance shows they have 47 applications running... The sad thing is that the same users will continue to have the same problem day after day, although they have been shown the solution a dozen times...and continue to blame it on the Mac. |

Preach on brother, maybe they'll learn. |

Hell, you don't need to change any settings. Just hook up a two button mouse and the second button is automatically a control-click. |

For all those new Mac converts, you can always try MS Firefox 2007 to ease the transition. » www.msfirefox.net/ |

By utilising a proprietary dynamic algorithm - anything that remotely resembles a tit or a boob will download up to 10 times faster. I may have to buy a windows box just to try it out . . . |
