[Connectivity] Connection issuesI often lose the connection, with no change in the modem lights (solid green Internet and Cable Link lights, flashing green PC Link and Cable Activity Lights). If I unplug the modem to reset it, it generally comes back with no Cable Activity light, or with solid green lights all the way across. Eventually, the normal connection comes back, with or without a reset.
The other problem is that the connection slows to a crawl, like a very slow dialup connection, again with no change in the modem lights.
Comcast techs have been out several times, have checked all the wiring (no splitters), no routers. Every time they come out, they want to swap the modem - if I have the RCA modem, they tell me it's crap and replace it with Motorola. Then, next time, they tell me the Motorola is crap and replace it with RCA. Other than that, they have nothing to offer.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Please provide the rest of your signal levels, a traceroute, and run our » /linequality test |

said by Big_D7:Please provide the rest of your signal levels, a traceroute, and run our » /linequality test Thanks. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set Zone Alarm (free version 6.5) to make it pingable. Any idea how to do this? |

I'd disable zonealarm and run a line quality test. After the test is complete, you can turn it back on. |

While you have zonealarm disabled browser some of your favorite sites to see if the slow down problem seems any better. |
