They actually replied and its working beter! Emailed tech support thursday afternoon. Got this back "Thank you, for your email. I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. I consulted my supervisor regarding this situation. As I am responding to your email, it is about 10:30 pm. unfortunately our maintenance department is currently closed. However, we will call them first thing in the morning to have this situation addressed. We agree this is a problem and you that you should not have to experience. We will do all we can to resolve the situation. It may be that a piece of equipment needs to be replaced or upgraded. This situation is usually not at your residence and may even be miles away. Please allow us a couple days to analyze and rectify this problem for you and others." Got that email this morning from last night. This morning at 11am there was a maint. truck in front of my house and now my speeds are as you see above pretty darn good during peak time. So, i dont know if they did something right or this is a fluke but hey they responded and i'm back to normal. I'm still in shock they admitted it was their problem!! Miracles never seem to stop! lol Hope others get this kind of response and remedy! |

I think they might have improved the speeds since yesterday morning. I am getting much more consistent speeds than yesterday. I called tech support for a friend last night who had an old sb4100 modem that needed swapped out and they told me that they were putting out some even newer config files to help with the speed problems. I don't know if that is the case but my download from speakeasy is 13 now instead of 7.4. |

No improvement here... This really is poor, used to have solid 4800-4900 down-speeds anytime, day or night before they "improved" things. I see my upload is back to 256 but it did nothing for the down.... This needs to be resolved, and reversing all the changes would be a good start. And, I see the upload is back to 256. At least that may help a bit eventually... |

Almost the the same numbers here in Ridgecrest as mattmag shows, in other words back to bad.
Thanks for getting our hopes up Mediacom. |

What happened to the speeds?
I got the 8/512 free upgrade. My modem was reset last night and now I'm getting only 8/256. What happened to the other half of my upstream?? |

The great 512Kbps upstream 'upgrade' has been rescinded, indefinitely. |

It is not "indefinite". It will happen, it is just a matter of time |

Unfortunately so...
a matter of time in getting higher uploads back should be in terms of days or months, not years or decades. According to a source, node segmentation must be performed in some markets before the roll out can continue. How long node segmentations take I do not know, however, I do know it only took about 3 months in Columbia once they knew it was necessary and speeds and latency after that were at great levels. |

Now my upload is in the crapper as well. I'm getting less than 500 down instead of over 900. This is the first night were the ul fell that much. |
