anon posted : Just go to the web page and forward your signature number to your fax machine number. I did this to be able to use my signature number as a local fax number, and signed up for a free inbound fax number with www.j2.com. The number they give your for free is long distance, but with free forwarding on sunrocket, you can then have a local fax number that comes to your email

slow mo posted : B is right. All calls to signature number will go to your household number. If you register signature number you can make outgoing calls only. If you register household number in two ports you are doing a multiple login. In both instances SR may terminate your account.

B04 posted : All the "hot phone" does is call a particular number automatically when the line goes off-hook. It's not particularly useful for most people.

I have seen some reports that SR has snagged/warned/disabled people who activated the second line, but I don't know if that's common.

As far as I understand, you WOULD be able to make two calls, but not receive them... After all, by "activating" the second line you ARE doing a "multiple login from the same account". Thus my (uninformed) warning above.

-- B
--
In a realm outside causality and function

Activating Phone 2 port

Night Rider posted : I have Sunrocket, the Innomedia Gizmo, admin access and wish to activate the phone 2 port but have a couple questions.

First I want to understand what activating the 2nd phone port will/not do. It is my understanding that it will allow incoming calls to direct to port 1 or port 2 based on number assignment. I do not believe it will allow me to either accept or receive two phone calls at the same time. I wish it did but I think Sunrocket's SIP server balks at multiple logins from the same account. Yes? No?

Second, I believe this is done through VOIP > User Account. If so, is the authentication ID the same for both ports? Could someone explain what a Hot Phone Number is? The Innomedia Admin Guide was not clear in defining this parameter.

Thanks in advance. If you need to reply by PM that's fine but I wish more of this info were public. I'm not trying to steal anything just customize my service a bit.
