I have swapped the whole mb into another case. Hooked up just the power supply,processor and a couple of fans. Still nothing. What would you say? Motherboard DOA? I'm really lost here.

Sounds like a dead mobo. One thing to try, take the board out of the new case, and place it on a foam pad - the one the board comes in is fine. Hook power to it only, with no memory or cards. Hook the front panel power switch to the board and try to turn it on. If you get nothing there, and you know the PS is good, I'd then say your mobo is gonzo.

I assume you would leave the processor on it also?

It may very well be a dead MOBO, however, even a dead MOBO should be able to turn on the PSU. I am suspecting that the CMOS jumper is in the clear position. Double check with the manual.

Just thought I'd post an update to my problem. After eliminating everything else I decided the MB was bad. Took it back to Frys and they said go get another one off the shelf.
When I came back up one of the geeks showed me that there was a bent pin in the processor socket which I guess was messing with the processor. Came home with the new board and 2 hours later I am up and running and typing this post on Windows Vista. First bad MB I ever bought and I hope its the last.
