Cannot Connect to DHCP Server Anymore

My PC, which was connecting just fine yesterday, can no longer obtain an IP address from the ActionTec router. I've got two other PCs in the network that can and do connect just fine to the internet, so the router is fine. I've switched cables around and ruled out that as a problem. I bought a network card and that gave me the same problem (so it's been removed and I'm back to the motherboard ethernet port).

I've spoken to Verizon (via their web chat interface) and we were not able to resolve anything. I spoke with HP and they couldn't help resolve anything either.

I can ping localhost (127.0.0.1) but not the router (192.168.1.1).

What's going on?! Anybody have an idea?!?!

Thanks.

Verizon did have you reset the router correct?

Yes.

I have resolved this issue on my own. It was a firewall issue. I don't know how my firewall settings were changed, but somehow McAfee firewall created a rule from an intruder at 192.168.1.1 (my router). Removing that restores everything.

WOW! :/
