maybe my imagination, but incoming spam is down a lot in the last few days. In fact, in the last 24 hours I've not had any real spammy spam at all (as in hidden image stock spam etc).

I'm having trouble believing it is connected, but still.

It could be connected just by sending other spammers running for cover.
For whatever reason my fax spam immediately dropped to zero since the arrest.

I wish that were the case, but I just had a new asshat start to spam one of my previously-unspammed email address. I'm not sure how it got out in the public since it is a pretty hard to guess, but in any event one slime is in jail and another picks up where he left off.

I've got a new bunch each day now that say something like "hi pal" and "just look" in the body with a single small link to a .hk site.

Yes, indeed. I was dismayed this morning by the recent increase in spam.

My spam load is now higher than it was just before Soloway was arrested. However, it is still better than the level last December.

You might want to ask Alex Blood and BadCow about that one, it seems they managed to know about this infomation and are now on full attack with their spam, only to know they are likely to continue what Soloway did not accomplish,

since now I found out that Alex Blood is now using morgage spam once again in place of what would have been Soloways job in doing that, so I am guessing those 2 spam gangs Alex Blood and BadCow have pretty much now taken over Soloways spamming job and probably are now on full force to making new viruses and so far 2 Level 2 viruses recently have showed up now,

The W32.Reztrict and the W32.Pusia.A, most likely BadCow's group creating these new viruses for infection, which also means he is despreate to keeping the spam going, of course that fails expect a damaging type virus to be made to destory every single botnet computer, even if the virus is made in Taiwan, the place where destructive computer viruses are made.

The break was nice while it lasted.
