I can't comment on the pricing - lots of ISP's have different business models of which several of them require $44.95/month to justify their customer base - that's not neccessarily a bad thing in the long run

Anyways, I don't want to start a flame war or big debate - if that user wants confirmation on what kind of DSL they can get, PM me their phone number and I can look it up for sure - Sympatico and Teksavvy cannot neccessarily guarantee the line speed until it's operational - I can look at their line stats as they are connected today and verify...

I wouldn't touch NRTCO with a 10 foot pole. I've heard they proxy, that the network acts like one massive Lan and they assign you 192.168 IP's and everything is blocked.

JayMan24 - where did you ever hear crap like that?? NRTC doesn't proxy anything nor block anything. You get *real* IP addresses assigned. $44.95/month for service is pretty *average*... "the one massive LAN" statement has me curious too - where or what is that in reference to??

MikeG - Nexicom (who I work for) provides their connectivity to them, but they maintain their own infrastructure....;)

I live in Pembroke, Cogeco does not offer cable internet here(yet, they said this summer). I use Teksavvy myself and they have been top notch.

They are local (Beachburg) and nice folks to deal with....;)

Cogeco in that area I have no idea what they are like.... but they do not permit servers officially and you might get a phone call if you run a server on their system (I did a few years ago)....
