What does this have to do with charter? |

First and foremost. Make sure you have the latest version. Second, make sure it's set up for a lan connection. If that doesn't work, there is a setting under IM Image that relates to errors. Try clicking that box as a last resort. It could also be problems with line quality. |

On 11/26/01 AIM was having problems.I don't think charter has anything to do with AIM. Unless charter is having problems. But to my knowledge, AIM was the problem.
I hope you didn't call charter because of this.. |

Re: AIM ProblemsI think Charter, when I connect the first time, it gives me a blank buddy list, when I connect the second time, it gives me my correct buddy list and displays a connection error... I connect to Port 21, 30, 71, 5190 and it gives me the same exact problems.. |

Has this always been happening or just last night? |

Changing the ports doesn't do D*CKIt's the server that's having the problems. And I'm pretty damn sure it is AIM. Lately I have been getting disconnected like every few hours or so. Annoying but I hafta deal with it. |

I had to reinstall IM last week to clear that problem up.
It is very very probably on your end...sorry. Backup your buddy list (just in case), uninstall the bugger, download it anew, reboot, and reinstall.

Re: AIM Problems/Blame AOLIt can certainly be AOL but no one has mentioned that. AIM/AOL are notoriously quick to dump connections--even if you are just using the humble dial-up. I had problems with it with DSL (Verizon, local ISP), too. And yes, it continues to be annoying on cable. I think the problem probably is AOL not Charter--unless you see yourself losing web browsing etc at the same time AOL goes down.
