RR in Milwaukee with AOL ?

I hope this isnt too off-topic.

My friend passed away recently and he has a static DSL connection. He is served by Century Tel and they are very pricey there for this.

His mom currently pays for an AOL account. She accesses her AOL over the DSL broadband in the house. I cant stand AOL but I am not out to re-invent the wheel here.

So, I suggested RR for them. $29/mo for 1yr and thats for 5MB down which is plenty for them.

Does anyone know if we can link RR to AOL or something here to reduce costs as much as possible? - She doesnt want to cancel AOL but I think paying for AOL in full and then paying for RR in full - seems wrong.

I have not called TW yet as I am not sure how to ask this so I thought I would post it here.

My buddy was paying $160/mo for dialtone/LD/Static DSL with Century tel. His parents are still paying the bill as they don't want to be cut off from the net. But I need to do something here to cut expenses for them...

What kind connection is AOL? If its unlimited dialup. Maybe she can call AOL and ask about other dialup plans. Something like being limited to 50 hours.

Then they could get RR installed. After RR broadband is running. They can stop the DSL broadband and other services they dont use. If they choose to stop DSL connection. Remember to check if they signed a contract. If its under your buddys name. They might be able to get out of it. Its something they would have to check.

You can get AOL free with Roadrunner now. So yes you can link them just ask them about it.

You can get AOL for FREE Period now. Just call them up tell them you want to be put on the Free BYOA plan with no Tech support or anything.

I have AOL installed and use it once in a while. I've been a customer since Feb. and still not a dime going to them.
