Re: FIOS TV for Fort Wayne, Indiana ???????????????/

She asked me if we had a HDTV, I said we did not but would be getting one within the next month. She went ahead and marked it for HDTV so the MR-DVR would be set up for it…whatever that means. She said she was not sure either, but had to “mark” it that way or it would not get setup right so we could get HDTV.
The DVR is a HD-DVR. There is no SD DVR available. HD programming comes free with just the premier package ($42.99), but is not turned on by default. It's a separate line item on your account that they have to turn on. If you don't have a HDTV, obviously you won't be getting HD quality but the receiver will downscale the picture to SD quality. There are more then a few HD channels that don't have a SD counterpart so you are getting extra channels in the process. You just won't be using them to their full capabilities until you get a HDTV.

Just to let everyone know, there is an SD-DVR on the way in the near future which will allow the customers who just want the DVR feature but do not have the high def tv to get a cheaper price for the box...I believe this will be a win win situation for the consumer and verizon because many people stay away from the DVR due to the pricepoint.

This would also make sense with the increase in the current DVR fee...if/when that happens.
