[modem/router] Westell 6100 DSL modem user manualI am trying to find a user guide/manual for the Westell 6100 DSL modem. I can't locate it anywhere. Anything I find has the Westell interface. I am looking for documentation on the Verizon interface (aka ProLine?).
Any assistance would be appreciated. |

Do you have your install CD? It should be on there in .PDF. |

I'm looking for information on the interface. It looks similar to mine (I have FiOS w/ the Actiontec router) but seems to be missing several features. I want to set up static IP's using the Westell and it isn't as clear as to how its done as with my interface. |

Static IP's on the LAN side or for the WAN? |

LAN side. He already has a static IP on the WAN side because it is a business. |

See if this helps. It's the best I can do. |

Thanks for trying, but the Verizon version has a different interface and the screens don't really match up to well. |

Actually, that is the Verizon version, just an older one. Everything is there somewhere, it's just a matter of finding it. |

Ok, the interface looks completely different and when you access the interface, the browser shows it as a Proline Modem.
I'll have to look closer.
Thanks. |

This is weird since I am having the same problem finding a proper manual for the 327W and have found all available manuals to have a different interface also. |

Jodokast: dslreports won't allow me to download the 6 MB Westell 610015 User Guide you posted, since I'm not registered.
I can't find it via a Google search.
The Westell website support page refers me to Verizon for all questions regarding the 610015.
I can't find the manual on the Verizon install CD. (Accessed via Fedora 7 Linux, although I doubt that makes a difference.)
Could you post it as a link rather than an attachment? |

That is for the old interface, not the new one. The same thing can be found if you scroll through the various 6100 models listed on the Westell site for one that isn't Vendor specific (there are several). If you have your cd, just run a search on it for .PDF files. On my newer cd it's in (DRIVE):\Modems\Westell\Install. On my older cd it's in (DRIVE):\bin\Utils\Westell. |

Thanks for your reply.
I did download the following manual from the Westell site:
Wirespeed Ethernet Bridge (Model 6000) Wirepseed Dual Connect Bridge (Model 6110) Wirespeed Dual Connect NAT Router (Model 6100) User Guide
Your 610015 manual looked like it might be a closer match.
I re-checked my Verizon install CD. I browsed it via Linux. I don't want to mount it under Windows on my dual-boot system because I don't want any software automatically installed. I'm a Linux novice, and I don't know how to automatically search the CD for .pdf files.
I received the CD one week ago. The top level folders are: common; vzcdchoice; sprtcommon; VZ IE6 setup; and bin
The bin folder contains only dll or exe files.
There is no "modems" folder.
I manually browsed the other folders and did not spot any pdf files. |

Update to my previous post. I learned how to automatically search the Verizon install CD under Fedora 7 Linux (using KDE desktop). The search did not find any pdf files.
For the record, open the CD using Konqueror. Click on Tools -> Find Files.
I tried three searches just to make sure, but any one of them is sufficient: *pdf, *.pdf, *pdf* |
