[Word] How do I turn off "track changes" in a file for good?

I use Word 2000 in XP. I have a Word doc that I have made numerous changes to. How can I have a file that I can email to a client, that they can not see any of the changes made, but still be able to make their own changes if they wish? I assume protecting the file is not seem to be the way to go.

In other words, how can I save this doc file like it had never been changed

Thanks.

I don't know a whole lot about Word or "track changes", but here is something you can try.

Open a new, blank document. Open the one in question. On the one in question, copy all of the data in it. Now paste it into the new document.

Not sure if the "track changes" metadata would be copied over to the new doc. If not, your new doc will be a clean start.

'Accept all changes in document' (it's on the 'reviewing' toolbar).

Then turn off 'track changes'.

I'd recomend to use - Doc Scrubber™.

It removes from DOC files followed info:
•Hidden Revision Logs
•A Unique, Identifying GUID
•Comments, Keywords, Subjects, and other properties
•Recent Hyperlinks
•Last Saved Date
•Last Edited By Information
•Last Printed Date
•Revision Count
•Total Editing Time
and more...
