I'm still not overly fond of all the clicking it takes to delete shows and the fact that Series show up in the order you added them instead of alphabetically in the Series Manager, but otherwise it is working as it should.
You can change the order they appear in from most important to least, if you want to arrange them alphabetically you can do that.
I thought how the old IPG worked was that it would default to show you them alphabetically(easier to find what you were looking for I think) and then you could say prioritize or something like that and it would take you to the priority view. Maybe I am thinking of the old Cox interface.

I have to say that I have not(knock on wood) experienced any problems with the new IMG recently other than the noted bugs -- smaller recording size reported, favorites bug, etc. I have not missed a recording since my multi-room was replaced and changed the way my signal was splitting to reduce signal loss going into that room.
Odd, I wonder if my signal is the problem? I wouldn't think so considering the techs were here forever and did an outstanding job with the install. I'm still missing recordings and things are still not recording all the way and I'm still getting o second recordings.
I never had missed recordings before the IMG was pushed out in that room. After he replaced the DVR I was seeing some signal breakup on the HD stations, so I changed from a 4 way splitter in the garage(2 go into the room w/a DVR and the router, 1 to a bedroom, and 1 to the attic where it gets split again) to a 2 way splitter that goes to the attic and eventually to the other 3 I mentioned above. This fixed my breakup issue and I have not missed a recording since.

I should also mention the tech thought it was probably a signal problem but I asked him to replace the box during the visit because he wanted to either run a cable around the outside of my house to the problem area(this would require cutting into my carpet, etc) or thought about putting an amp in-line, which he did not have. So we settled on just replacing the box.

DVR seems to work better than before with new IMG

I actually and really getting used to and enjoying my DVR more now than with the older guide. The more I have been using it, the more comfortable and faster it seems I can manage and view my recordings. It's been a few months, and I still think it's been a vaste improvement for my TV experience.

Re: New IMG Thoughts

What happened to the episode names in the info about a show? The old guide use to show it and the new one does not. Why would they take that out?
I would rather see the episode names when you go into a sub menu of a series. So instead of seeing "South Park 9/12", "South Park 9/12", "South Park 8/22" you would see something like "Erection Day", "Die Hippie, Die", "Smug Alert!". I know they they are all South Park and I don't care what day it wax recorded on. If only they took after one of the best DVRs out there.

So...if you live in MD or Va pls call Fios to tell them the problems you're having. Hopefully that will result in something. They also gave me credit for my DVR's since I got 2.0, so if you start hitting them in the pocket, maybe that will get them to make the fixes quicker.
How much credit did they give you?

I've given up on calling Vz about all the problems. They just acknowledge the problem and reset your box. Useless.

They also want to swap your box out. Vz is in denial.

When you stop calling, the "call volume" drops, and they decide that the issues are either "fixed" or no longer significant since no one is calling. If you call, report the problem, and ask for a credit on your bill each time you run into a problem, they may eventually get around to fixing the problems.

Don't worry, they're going to be getting ONE more call.

Well, just had my first recording error in a while, I was watching at the time, so stopped and fixed it. I was watching college football and had Monk and Nashville set to record, Monk was fine, but Nashville(on Fox HD) was just black video until I stopped it.....I guess that would have been a missed recording had I not been here.

Just black video? Odd. So when you were watching it live was it still the same thing?

As soon as I stopped recording the video started displaying properly. Of course there is always the chance that the station was having problems and it happened to get fixed between the time I stopped it and deleted it, who knows.

I guess TV season kicks off w/full steam in a little over a week. We'll see what happens.

I think you'll see a lot of upset people. Up until now I've only missed several episodes of Big Brother and Big Brother After Dark. When I start missing Hero's and Friday Night Lights is when this service might have to be canceled.

I don't mind when my car breaks down on a local road, but when it starts breaking down on the highway, I'm going to switch cars.

Clearly it's not the equivalent of a car breaking down.

I'm trying to resist going back to DTV because I wouldn't have HD with them. I know my only real option is the Tivo option but it's not cheap.

Don't even bother, bgtimber75.

Your options are apparently to love the crapware or discontinue service. Advocating for improvements, noting flaws and making others aware of the problems you are having are all not allowed. You'll be hit with clunky analogies in return.

Actually, when a car does start to breakdown and become unreliable, leaving you stranded on any road , it's time to consider a new one

LOL - I've never seen a group of people so miserable and obsessed with something they dislike, yet continue to use it and pay for it.

Obviously the folks that aren't miserable are the problem and the ones that are miserable and continue to stay miserable, are the ones we need to keep happy here.

Leave the service already. Speak with your wallet. Others have moved on. I've read multiple posts here about folks fed up with billing or service or the DVR and moved on to a solution they are happier with. It's like having a toothache and sitting at home complaining about it instead of relieving the pain. I guess you guys actually enjoy the pain. Do you need something in your lives to complain about to make it a meaningful day?

Well, we can't put knarf into the group of dissatisfied customers yet, as he's just a follower complaining on behalf of others since he doesn't have the guide yet. When he gets it, I'm sure he'll start his own "OMG WTF!" thread.

Move on folks. It's just friggin TV for crying out loud.

Then why do you post here if "it's just TV"? I'm sorry my complaints bother you. I'm sorry I want something as simple as a DVR that actually records shows. I'm sorry that switching service is not as easy as you advocate. Clearly I'm just supposed to shut up about the problems that I'm experiencing. Thank you for setting me straight.

"Post here" is an understatement. Second most frequent poster in this "it's just TV" forum. All sunshine and daisies and how great everything is, no doubt. Don't you know that only posting happy talk makes it a "meaningful day"?

I didn't realize that it was a complaint to discuss things NOT recording. I guess I should just grin and bear it or switch providers, but under no circumstances discuss it here.

All my posts aren't happy. Do you actually read them? Obviously not. I guess the difference is the word "obsession".

Also, the posters list you are referencing I think is based on when I registered here, not the number of posts. I'm not even close to being a top poster here in number of posts.

And no is asking anyone to shut up, but you're like toddlers saying "mommy I want a cookie, mommy I want a cookie" hundreds of times a day. I'm assuming you are adults, so stop whining and take action. You have choices, options and hopefully, a backbone to take a stance and make a difference by impacting a company you aren't happy with. Instead, you post here and whine to a bunch of folks that can't do a f'in thing to help you.

Just so we're clear. When different people come on here and post issues we're not supposed to chime in on them? Look at all of the posts on the first page about issues, and they're not started by the same people. They should just be ignored?

I didn't realize you were the arbiter of what was "normal" and what's "obsession."

How would you categorize feeling the need to reply to each and every complaint with happy talk, astroturfing for broken software and browbeating?

No one needs to be ignored. Look at the post you made in which I previously commented. Does it make sense?

You, in my own words, stated:
I'm not happy and have an issue, but instead of doing something, I'm going to wait until it gets worse.

That's what I responded to.

Where's my happy response you're referencing? I Made no mention of any such thing. I said for the person complaining to get off their lazy ass and do something. Talk is cheap. Take action. Stand up for yourself. Have a set of balls. How ever you want to say it - do something instead of whine.
