Service out this morning...Hey guys,
I have had my byod service setup for about 3 days with no problems using my old sunrocket innomedia. This morning when I got up, my voip light was out. It was working fine last night about 11pm ish.
All I did was a reboot of the power on the innomedia cause I had to goto work, so could not play with it too much. Will have to see if its working later when I get home.
Anyone else had any issues this morning? I'm set to the ny number 1 server I believe. |

Service would not cut out like that if the number had ported would it? I know the number in the setup would need to be changed if that was the case, but would the temp number they gave me still work till I made the change?
Mostly just wishful thinking on my part as I never got any emails about the port aside from the initial email saying it was in process.
I can tell its still out cause when I call my home number it rings once and goes to voicemail. Should ring 4 times.
I'll try changing the server later when I get home if its out and if that doesn't work I'll have to try and get in touch with them. |

No, how do I check? I'm a new VT member from SR. I sent a ticket out last night for the Admin. password for the adapter and haven't gotten the p/w yet.
Edit: Got to go now, be back later. |

Again, how do I check, or change, what server I am on? |

Only way I know for sure is to log into your device and see what its set too. I'm on a byod plan, so already have access to the device. Possibly the soft phone config in your control panel would let you know?
Perhaps others who have had the service longer know another way to check. |

Thanks, the soft phone config says newyork-1.vtnoc.net.
...And still no service here yet. |

Hmm, so your on ny-1 also, same as me. Perhaps its a problem with that server.
Anyone on Ny-1 up and running? Or if your out and on Ny-1 and able to change, does that bring you back up? |

Try changing to something like Chicago-1a.vtnoc.net, Chicago-1b.vtnoc.net, Chicago-1c.vtnoc.net, Chicago-1d.vtnoc.net, or Chicago-1e.vtnoc.net...
As said by VTBrendan- Hey,
This is a list of the currently available server groups on our network.
newyork-1a.vtnoc.net richmond-1a.vtnoc.net richmond-1b.vtnoc.net houston-1a.vtnoc.net houston-1b.vtnoc.net chicago-1a.vtnoc.net chicago-1b.vtnoc.net chicago-1c.vtnoc.net chicago-1d.vtnoc.net chicago-1e.vtnoc.net chicago-1f.vtnoc.net chicago-1g.vtnoc.net* sanjose-1a.vtnoc.net* sanfrancisco-1a.vtnoc.net*
The groups with asterisk's next to them are currently undergoing upgrades and/or repairs. Any of these groups should be more than capable of providing quality service to any of our customers.

Looks like they are routing things around... I just pinged the newyork-1 server and it is pointing to the chicago-1 server. |

I don't know what server I am on since I don't have the password for my ViaTalk-provided device. I do, however, live in New York City and my service has been running fine all morning. |

Yeah, not sure what it is then, since some people on Ny1 are ok. I'll switch the server when I get home later and see if that helps.
As of right now when I call my number thats forwarding from SR, I get one ring and then to VM. If I dial my VIA number direct, it goes right to VM. So its still down. |

If it was down, you would not get the calls going to VM. It sounds like there is another problem going on. |

I tried power cycling my PAP2 adapter numerous times this morning and I still had no service. I just talked with a VT CSR and he told me to recycle it, and now I have service. I checked my softphone config and now I'm on newyork-2.vtnoc.net, as opposed to newyork-1.vtnoc.net from earlier. |

I posted this in the "BYOD Help Thread" but I'm thinking it may be related with this one... I had my BYOD account activated on Wed, 07/25 and after configuring my Sunrocket SPA-2102 all inbound calls were crystal clear but outbound calls resulted in a busy tone. I tried various dialplans, stun server, config changes, etc, however during random troubleshooting last night I tried changing the server from houston-2.vtnoc.net to sanjose-1.vtnoc.net and outbounds worked I switched back to houston and they did not work. I've attempted connections to houston-1, houston-2, and sanfrancisco-1 and cannot get outbound on any. All servers allowed successfully registration of the SPA-2102 and ping tests showed fewer hops and faster response time to houston vs san jose. Not sure if this is a common occurrence for new accounts (something in the infrastructure needs to sync?) or related to these service outages. |

I had the same thing happen when I first signed up. It was strange that some of the servers I would point to would have issues. I have the two line setup, and some servers would have issues with one line and not the other. In other cases, I could call in, but not out.
Give VT support a call. They were able to fix my similar issues in quick order. Just let them know what server is causing you problems. |

I changed my server to New York 2 and service was back up. Can someone tell me how to keep it at New York 2? It keeps going back to New York 1 and then I lose service again. Thanks! |
