Josh O posted : Past two nights it seems to be acting up after 9:00 p.m. Figures, the times it's doing it, way beyond a tech coming to the house. This is just ridiculous. Ran two speed tests: one said 600K download, 100K upload, another said 2M upload and 10K download!!! Things really have gone downhill after AT&T taking over, I think we're getting ripped off I really do and consider this to be false advertising. Of course my latter statement won't fly because they put the sleaze words of "up to 6M download and up to 768K upload", I guess my 600K download and 10K upload is "up to" 6M and 768K right???!!! I'm just one step closer to going cable modem and just need to keep documenting my problems with AT&T so if I end up at the cancellation phase, I can try (I say try) to fight the early cancellation fee. I couldn't be more disappointed and jaded at this point.

I have had it! I think they're messing with some of us and just tagging us along to be hopeful that things will get better. Sorry, I don't see it.

My service is very intermittent also with the ELITE speed I am paying for. And it does seem to be a "prime-time" issue, but not always. There is no real pattern to it.

I had a tech out last Saturday, very nice and most of the folks on the phone are very nice as well, but very nice isn't cutting it for me anymore...I want results and I am not getting it. ANyhow, the tech went up to the pole and swapped wire pairs and got a little better reading and I almost knew then that it wasn't going to last. When he was here I was getting 4.9 Mbps. Next day, like you said, back to crap.

So, I have to make a decision here soon....

Charlie

Josh O posted : What exactly is AT&T doing to us??? I'm having the same exact problem with my Elite service as well. It seems like from 5 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. it's horribly sluggish, a few time this evening the Speakeasy test told me I was downloading at 13K and uploading at 1K!!!! It seems this time of night I'll range anywhere from 500K-2M download and 150K upload but during the morning or oddly enough a Saturday, I'll get 4+M download and 500+K upload. I've gone through numerous iterations with tech support on the phone, the typical clear cookies, take the router out of the circuit, turn off firewalls, etc to the line group doing remote tests telling me they see digital packet loss and this past weekend, a tech came to my house (in the morning of course where it seems everything is working fine!!) and noted errors from my line that's plugged into my modem with his handheld line analyzer but didn't get the same errors at my connection box. He put a global filter on this particular line at the connection box to isolate the DSL signal away from all of the other phone jacks in my house. When he was done, consistent 4+ M downloads, 500+K uploads. Of course, this was Saturday 8:30 a.m. Last night and tonight, back to crap, hanging up, etc etc. I've replaced my modem, tried the old shutting modem down turning back, rebooting computer, nothing.

This is really starting to smell of a scam to me. I'm so frustrated I'm almost ready to go cable modem.
