AT&T Midwest → drmorley plz help me out if ya can :)

I was wondering if you could help me out. I just got off the phone with Atech tech support. My upload speed has been very slow the past few weeks. Ive posted on this before. Now my up load is around 60kbs My download is pretty much on target but is about 15kbs slower than usual (ex. ** Speed 633(down)/66(up) kbps **) The guy on the phone said that nothing is wrong, he said maybe there is some line noice. He also said since Atech does not gaurantee speed there is nothing I could do. As long as I can view a web page I should be happy. You think you can maybe help me out and look at my settings and tell me where my RT is and what may be causing the slower speeds. Its been like this for about 3weeks now.

Its been like this since before I got my router too. Which is a Speedstream 2601 router on a Speedstream 5260 modem

MTU is low, should be at 1492. MTU is set in the router, rwin on the PC. You also have an MTU on the PC which should be set to 1492 also. That is all I saw from the tweak test. RWIN can be raised to 32,600 although it will then show out of range from the test but, should be good.

ouch..... 66 up on DSL .... i thought their upstream was supposed to be higher than downstream .. ..

The router is set at 1492 the tweaks section cant detect that.

I was getting faster speeds until about 3weeks ago and now the upload is slow. I used to get speeds in the 650 down and 140 up range.

How long have you held your IP, I had mine for 342 hours which is a little over 14 days. have you tried the usual shut off the modem for about five minutes, sometimes I have rebooted my router and kept the same IP.

Its been like this through a couple power cycles. I have been on my current IP since last thurs. But speeds have been doing the same thing with every IP I have gotten. I originally thought it was due to the problems we were all having a few weeks ago but it hasnt blown over yet. I got someone checking on me tomorrow so hopefully Ill know more then.

Thanks to help by reinacher It appears I have a voice line problem and after I got done talking to the voice peeps they said they would have someone out probably later this afternoon to have it fixed. So I guess that is why I have been having speed problems on my line. We will see how it tests after they fix it. Thanks guys. Oh and morley if you could still tell me the distance from my RT thatd be great.
