WUSB54GC.exe CPU Usage

I have a WUSB54GC adapter to connect to my WRT54G router. I noticed that the CPU usage continually goes from 0 to 80% for WUSB54GC.exe I had a Netgear adapter before and never noticed any problem. What could be the problem?

I'm not entirely positive about this, but Try right-clicking on the Linksys Wireless Adapter icon in the system tray, and see if there is an option to let Windows XP handle the wireless connection, rather than the Linksys Connection Manager application...

I Rt. clicked the task bar icon and disabled the monitor and the CPU is ok.
