did you not read my previous post? i run my own postfixd mail server, I am quite familiar with how to troubleshoot this sort of thing. As I also mentioned in a previous post, all external mail servers fail to connect (through netcat, telnet is weaksauce), ie q1.netfirms.com. Connecting to cia's mail server at mx01.cia.com did work, but this is probably because it is inside their network.

You did not specifically mention what you tried, so I thought I would try to help with the easiest test suggestion. Just because you run your own mail server means you actually know what you are doing, many do and claim the same. Sorry for trying to assist.

i'd kinda be surprised if random people could get postfixd going without knowing what they were doing.
