Just got vDSL installed, but slow download speeds

I just got vdsl installed friday since i have fiber-to-the-curb in my neighborhood. According to the DSLR speed tests, my upload speeds are pretty good at 136 kbps, but my download speeds are maxxing out at only around 300 kbps. The tech who installed it said that I should be getting around 1000 kbps. I have called SWB tech support to report the problem, but they said they have escalated it to Tier 3 tech support and would probably call back within 24 hours. Could an ASI tech or anyone else please give me info on why this may be occurring?

I had the same problem but when I called tech support they sent me to maintinance and they rerouted me. Now my speed is back where it should be. They have some routing problems and mine was fixed within minutes.

Which operating system are you using? Unless it's Win2K or XP, you very likely will need to "tweak" your RWIN value to realize the full download speed potential. The Dr TCP utility found here on DSLR reports can help with that... I'd suggest an RWIN value of about 32-40K.

I thought VDSL allowed speeds up around 10 meg or so?
