[Vista] SATA drives and AHCI

New Abit IP35 PRO MB here with BIOS options of:
IDE, AHCI, RAID.

Questions:

Which selection is correct if I have a SATA *BOOT* drive and SATA DVD drives
with NO RAID?

Does choosing *IDE* in BIOS *before* installing VISTA, cause the SATA drives to not appear
during POST when booting up?

Any insight here would be greatly appreciated

i'm looking for the same answer. when i put vista on my ip35 pro system then tried to set it to AHCI, i got an error on boot. set it back to IDE, still wouldn't boot. had to repair using the vista disc, and haven't tried to put it back to AHCI since LOL.
