TSI Gabe posted : If you have sync but no connectivity (even test@test fails) it may be due to a lot of things. Although most of the time it is due to the fact that there is no layer 2 connectivity between the DSLAM and the BAS itself (A Juniper ERX in most cases). Sometimes it's a bad port. Sometimes a bad card. It's really on a case per case basis.
--
TSI Gabe - TekSavvy Solutions Inc.

Gokuu posted : Interesting...my friend has TSI dryloop at Yonge St/401 area and lost his PPPoE connection ability earlier today as well. His modem gets sync, but the PPPoE connection would never go through. I wonder if there is any relation here since your avatar says North York.

Internet has been down for a few hours

hidea posted : So, uhh... the "Internet" light on my ST780 modem has been SOLID red for quite sometime. A few hours. I called in earlier today (Sunday) and I was helped by two different agents. We've reset the modem back to factory setting and did the setup again, but that didn't solve the problem.

Every time I try to connect, it fails at the PPP stage. It says it's been disconnected by user. I can assure you that the cable from the wall outlet to the modem has not been touched.

I'm stealing WiFi. ;P.

So, what's going on? Is there something wrong with the line going into the condos I live in? I'm starting to go crazy. Being without the internet for a few hours isn't a good thing. Thank God I have a Blackberry, but I can't do my work properly with just a BB alone :(.
