Re: Anyone switched to Earthlink DSL?

why do you guys even bother for the price you are paying for a measly 1.5mb service that cost around $60 you can get OOL if its available for half the price and speeds in the 4.5mb -8mb range. Think about it

Half the price?

These are the new rates they are changing:
No-Video subscriber $49.95
Broadcast Basic $49.95
Family Cable $39.95
Family Plus any Premium Service $34.95
Optimum TV packages $34.95

What's more, that place is a small regional. It doesn't service most places, just a tiny portion of VZ territory so please take your spam elsewhere.

One week ago I was upgraded from the Verizon DSL 640 Service Plan to the Verizon DSL 1.5 Service Plan.

My Desktop Computer which is running Windows XP still is receiving the same slow 510 KBPS Connection Download Speeds.

I even connected my Compaq Notebook Computer which is running Windows 2000, and I receive the same slow 510 KBPS Connection Download Speeds.

These are the same Connection Speeds that I have been receiving for over 1.5 Years as a Subscriber to the Verizon DSL 640 Service Plan.

I have spoken to the Verizon DSL Technical Support at their Multiple Technical Network Support Levels six times over the last week.

I have also spoken to the Verizon DSL Customer Service, and their Network People.

Verizon states that I have been successfully upgraded from my 640 Service Plan and have been provisioned correctly for the Verizon DSL 1.5 Service Plan.

Verizon DSL Technical Support now states that they will move my DSL Telephone Line to another one of their Routers but it will take a few weeks to accomplish this task.

I have complained over and over again, and the Verizon DSL Customer Service will give me one month's Credit for the aggravation that this has caused me.

I have CableVision Optimum OnLine in my area, but I have three Optimum IO Cable TV Boxes which are the new interactive Cable TV Boxes which actually have a Cable Modem installed internally inside of them.

I have too many Cable Spliters in my CO-OP Apartment for my multiple Cable Boxes and extra Televisions.

I tried two times in the last year to have the CableVision Optimum Online installed, but because of my multiple Cable Spliters the signal to the Cable Modem is not strong enough.

Since I live in a CO-OP Apartment, the CableVision Technicians cannot run an additional Cable directly to the room that has the Computer.

They said that the CO-OP Rules prohibit the installation of additional Cables that have to be run on the outside of the Building into the CO-OP Apartment.

Don't you think I would rather be paying $ 29.95 a month for the CableVision Optimum Online which has a much higher Connection Speed than the $ 59.95 a month for the Verizon DSL 1.5 Plan.

I do not know how the Verzion DSL can ever compete against against the CableVision Optimum OnLine.
