I have the basement watchdog one also and it has saved us several times. I actually use to be a rep for them at one time. A couple things to keep in mind is the 7hr run time is the continuous time. Most of the time the pump will not be running continuously. It will run for 20 or 30 seconds and them be off for awhile and will repeat this process. This can significantly extend how long you can run off the battery. As far as the water based ones, like was mentioned before they do not move as much water and you also need to be on city water because if you are on a well and the power goes out your well pump will not work.
