Re: [XP] Not sure why I cant access some sites (help!)I just tried the OpenDNS servers, and have the same problem. What kills me is I have some basic to advanced network knowledge and still cant figure this out. Could some faulty or malicious file on my computer be preventing access to just facebook? It seems weird. |

What about your hosts file? |

I opened that too, it has never been edited or modified, and has no reference to facebook or anything like that. |

When you said many different connections, are you just referring to the path between you and your modem? I wonder if they've blackholed traffic from the IP block you're in. Or maybe just your IP. Consider very highly, and I don't need an answer here, whether or not you've said or done anything on facebook recently that anyone would find offensive or possibly interrupt service to other facebook users.
Have you tried all possible browsers? There might be a problem with an extension (firefox) or an addon (IE). Check those too.
If possible, take your laptop to a place like starbucks and eat the couple bucks to use their Wi-Fi and see if there's any change in behavior. |

What i meant by different connections was my home connection, and the wireless at the local library. Neither worked. No difference between using LAN and wireless either. Also, it's probably not router/modem related, because the site works just fine on other computers in my house!
The other laptop and desktop have absolutely no issues accessing the site, it's something specific to my computer. I know I wasn't banned or anything off facebook.
I tried using safari, firefox, and IE all to no avail. I just want to say thanks to all you guys so far for your suggestions, keep them coming!
