Loud pipes save lives!!
Tests show that loud pipes don't actually save lives. The pipes exit to the rear and thats where most of the sound is directed. Since your moving in the opposite direction from where the sound is going, by the time you arrive at the car your trying to alert its already too late to alert them.
What does happen is hearing loss and rider fatigue due to continual and excessive db's.
