Thanks your solution worked, we'll see what happens when main definitions for the day come down.

It looks like, I'm not the only one having problems with this, there are others with the same problem over in the thread I started in the Norton forums.

You've upgraded from NIS2008? Are you using a trial? Or, you've a valid license for NIS2009?

Generally, I suspect a "faulty" install may be the problem.

If you're able, I'd suggest starting over with a clean slate. I'd uninstall NIS2009, insuring all remnants were cleaned off the machine (registry especially), and I'd reinstall. See if the problem persists.

I'd been trialling NIS2009 for some period, having never seen such an error message.
